Reiki From Jay - Coconut Oil

Benefits of Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil has so many health benefits I cannot possibly list them all here!
It can be used for skin, hair, cooking and many more things besides.

Here are my personal top ten uses for it-

  1. Of course, oil pulling! My absolute favourite oil for oil pulling. If you have never heard of oil pulling or have never tried it, please see my Oil pulling article.

  2. Make up remover plus facial cleanser & moisturiser.

  3. Rubbed on lips as a natural moisturiser.

  4. As a natural deodorant.

  5. As an ingredient in magnesium oil body butter.

  6. As a hand cream.

  7. As an all over body moisturiser after bathing.

  8. Used in coffee as a coffee creamer.

  9. To lighten age spots.

  10. As a shaving oil and an after shave cream.

It can also be used in place of vegetable oil for cooking, as a spread on bread and toast instead of butter.
It can be used sparingly to control hair frizz. Massaged into the scalp to get rid of dandruff or to encourage hair growth.
Insect bites and stings can be soothed with coconut oil.
It can be used on a tampon and inserted to help clear up yeast infections. As a personal lubricant. To prevent stretch marks in pregnancy and to keep the perineum supple to prevent tearing during childbirth.
It can be used in home made mayonnaise instead of other oils.
Coconut oil can speed healing of skin infections and injuries as well as to get rid of eczema and psoriasis.
Mix some with granulated sugar for a natural exfoliating body scrub.
Perfect for use on pets with skin problems.
As a massage oil. When taken regularly it can help with weight loss.
It also has hormone stabilising abilities and is just generally gorgeous in every way! lol

As I said before, there really are so many uses for it that I couldn't possibly list them all here.

The best coconut oil to buy would be organic virgin cold pressed coconut oil. Such a lovely smell and taste to it (If you like coconut that is)! lol

I use coconut oil daily and now have to purchase it in bulk as it works out cheaper than buying tiny amounts at a time :-)
